System Options
System options control how the server starts, how sessions are charged and how operators log clients in and out.
These toggles live in the Options block on the General settings page. They no longer have a settings category of their own. Each option is a simple on or off switch. Changes are saved with the page-level Save action.
Launch on Startup
The HandyCafe server application starts automatically when the operating system boots. This keeps the server running without an operator opening it manually after a restart or a power loss. Recommended for a dedicated server machine.
Double Click Start/Stop
An operator can start or stop a client session by double-clicking the client on the main page. This speeds up the login and logout workflow during busy periods. When it is off, starting and stopping a session uses the standard multi-step flow.
This option affects operator convenience only. It does not change how sessions are priced or charged.
PC Postpaid Sessions
Sessions on PCs can run as post-paid. The customer uses the PC first and pays for the elapsed time at the end. When it is off, PC sessions follow the prepaid flow, where time or balance must exist before the session runs.
Console Postpaid Sessions
The same behaviour for consoles. The PC and console toggles are independent. Post-paid can be allowed on PCs while consoles stay prepaid only. The reverse also works.
Expanded Sidebar
The navigation sidebar starts expanded rather than collapsed to icons.
Set Prepaid as Default
The session dialog opens with prepaid selected. Use it in a cafe that sells time in blocks rather than charging on exit.
Prepaid Pricing Mode
Decides which rate a prepaid block is charged at when the pricing schedule changes during the block:
| Mode | Behaviour |
|---|---|
| Lock at Purchase | The whole block is charged at the rate in force when it was sold |
| Live Schedule | The block follows the schedule and crosses into the next rate as time passes |
Member Postpaid
Member post-paid sessions are switched on separately, in the Members block on the same page. A member post-paid session records the cost as member debt rather than collecting at the counter.
Notes
Post-paid options extend credit during a session. Enable them only where you are comfortable collecting after use. See Bills for the flow that keeps a guest check open across several devices.
